Head Oligonucleotides, VP, 100% (f/m/d)

To drive our continuous organic growth, we are constantly looking for highly qualified professionals. We are looking for a dedicated Head Oligonucleotides (f/m/d) to drive the growth of our business with oligonucleotide active pharmaceutical ingredients and services.

Your tasks:

• Ensures continuous world leading CDMO services for our customers: cost-efficient, fast, and reliable delivery in line with regulatory requirements (i.e. cGMP) for synthetic oligonucleotides and related services
• Shapes the future of the oligonucleotide business as part of the site management team
• Full financial accountability for functional area, owns and implements the oligonucleotide business plan, including strategies for long-range capacity planning and capital investments
• Leads the organization according to Bachem's management principles and employs an entrepreneurial mindset and approach
• Manages and controls the activities of the oligonucleotide organization through direct reports (VP’s, directors, department heads, senior group leaders)
• Demonstrates ability for strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making to navigate complex operational challenges that drive business growth and operational excellence
• Close collaboration with the business development team to expand the customer base and drive growth of the product portfolio for clinical development and commercial applications
• Fosters continuous improvement and innovation, including digitalization and automation
• Ability to inspire an organization
• Demonstrated ability to drive an inclusive and diverse culture of growth, performance, and safety
• Implements changes through role modelling and coaching
• Proven track record to build and grow high-performing teams
• Represents the function towards customers and internally

Your profile:

• PhD and/or Master in Life Sciences or related area
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing of oligonucleotide active pharmaceutical ingredients in CDMO or pharma/biotech industry
• Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience at a senior level
• Several years of experience with regulated products and services, excellent working knowledge of GMP regulations, and direct experience in communicating with quality auditors and inspectors
• Sound understanding of business management and financial performance development
• Leadership skills in managing change, influencing others in matrix organizations, attracting and developing talent
• Experience with common continuous improvement tools (e.g. lean/six sigma).
• Language skills: English, excellent skills (oral, written) and German intermediate skills
