Head of Innovation Optics / ML (m/f/d)

You will be responsible for Heraeus Conamic`s innovation activities in the field of Optical Industry, Microlithography and Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUV). This covers the cutting-edge development of new Materials and products in the business lines Photonics and Semiconductor. You lead, motivate, develop, and challenge the R&D team to achieve technical and strategic goals. You foster a data-driven mindset to guide decision-making and project prioritization. You monitor the effectiveness of R&D activities and contribute actively to strategic planning and project portfolio management. You communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for R&D initiatives. In this role you will join our Global Innovation Team and report to the Global Head of Innovation.

Successfully completed advanced degree in material science, physics, or chemistry (PhD strongly preferred) 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a leading position in innovation with line management and budget responsibility Good knowledge of process technology and properties of quartz glass Strong communication skills in English & German with the ability to interact at all levels of functions in the organization Experience in setting strategic direction and driving project pipelines Ability to mentor and develop team members to reach their full potential High degree of entrepreneurial thinking and acting, mental agility and willingness to travel
