The Civil Engineering Corporate department of Munich Re F&C (Facultative & Corporate) provides bespoke insurance solutions to the global civil engineering and selected industrial sectors. Our department supports brokers, owner/operators and construction companies worldwide and is responsible for project (CAR/EAR) as well as operational (CECR/IDI) business.
To complement our dynamic team, we are looking for a junior engineering underwriter with a background in civil or industrial engineering. Your field of activities will be varied: while learning the fundamentals of underwriting, you will also be supporting client management and business development activities.

YOUR JOB

• Develop and work on corporate civil engineering business with a focus on project works
• Review submissions and preparing risk assessment, pricing and wording analysis
• Maintain customer relationships
• Perform risk evaluations and review of survey reports
• Assist in data analytics and portfolio review
• Keep up-to-date with industry developments and trends
• Help prepare and conduct presentations and seminars for colleagues and clients

YOUR PROFILE

• University degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, industrial) or related discipline, with knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Initial industry experience, international and/or on major projects of advantage
• Knowledge of insurance in the fields of CAR, EAR, CECR and IDI and willingness to learn
• Business-level English required, other language skills (German, French, Spanish) of advantage
• Strong understanding of numbers, analytical skills and ability to work without supervision
• Collaborative and effective work approach in an international group dynamic
• Willingness to travel
