Advanced Cytometry / Team Lead "Facility Infrastructure, Services and Support"

Your Responsibilities
The Imaging & Optics Facility (IOF) provides 'state of the art' Microscopy Application and Flow Cytometry services, as well as assistance in image analysis and custom optical development solutions. The "Facility Infrastructure, Services and Support" team is to guarantee smooth operations of IOF by maintaining the IOF-related infrastructure and providing services & support, including Cytometry services, Slide scanner services, Rental system services and generic microscopy infrastructure.
- Leading and developing a team of technicians and Cytometry specialists
- Ensuring reliable operations and availability of IOF Infrastructure by interacting with responsible internal partners, ensuring documentation & establishing SOPs/policies as well as quality control standardization
- Coordinating standard IOF Services (incl. slide scanner and rental services) and Support (incl. instrument training, advice and assistance to users, teaching and outreach activities)
- Coordinating and providing special Cytometry Services and Support: advanced troubleshooting, new technology implementation, on-demand assay development and project-based work-flow optimization
- Coordinating operation and maintenance of specialized imaging equipment and services
- Supporting the facility manager with annual budgeting, cost controlling and capacity planning
- Providing advisory input to researchers for experimental design on advanced Flow Cytometry and Advanced Microscopy
- Taking over general core facility tasks, system maintenance checks and routine facility checks, including routine care of imaging facility equipment and infrastructure
Your Profile
- Degree in Life Science, (Bio-)Physics, or equivalent
- Experience in a core facility or similar role required incl. experience with diverse microscopy & flow-cytometry techniques
- Expertise in general imaging techniques & applications, optical instrumentation and Flow Cytometry
- Knowledge of scripting and (image) data-analysis
- First experience in leading a small team is an advantage
- Service-oriented workstyle with high self-motivation and reliability
- Excellent organizational and good project management skills
- Very good communication skills in German and English
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good analytical skills & creativity in solving problems
